"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."
Jesus said the night was coming.
"And the evening and the morning were the first day."
We must keep in mind that Jesus never taught anything that wasn't in the Old Testament. If he said it, God the Father had already said it prior. Jesus began the new creation of God when he came into the world. He is the Lord of the new creation that is subsuming the old. Genesis begins in a manger at Bethlehem.
